Let the Outdoors In

With the warmer weather slowing making its way to us in Toronto, I’m looking forward to the day we turn off the heat and open the windows. {before the air conditioning is needed} The perfect start to a spring day is when I can open the windows and let the freshness of the morning air into the house. To make that thought even more captivating, wouldn’t it be grand if we could let the outdoors in by not only opening the windows but by opening the wall altogether? Retractable glass walls or folding doors, brilliant idea! Here’s a round up of some truly amazing spaces… enjoy!

Wouldn't it be great to live in a place where it was warm enough to have a retractible wall open all year long? Or even live somewhere that it was worth installing one {and by that I mean having nice weather more than 3 months a year}? I say Oakville schmokville - let's move to Cali Wendy! :)
Just beautiful! I want o be in any one of these spaces right now. There is a builder, "Arthur Ruttenberg," that designs homes here in Florida to bring the outdoors in. He designs large glass doors that retract into the walls, just stunning. I always make sure to stop by one of his models during the parade of homes!

Gorgeous- it's pretty much a dream of mine to have a house with windows like these that just open right up- glorious!

Oooh, love them all! Wouldn't it be great to live somewhere where it's warm enough to bring the outdoors in year round?

One of the houses I saw on the Glebe House Tour last fall had a glass garage door at the back of the house. It rolled right up and out of the way to open the indoors completely to the outdoors - such a brilliant idea :-)

I wish I lived somewhere that I could have this. Not very practical for Seattle :)
