Workspace Inspiration & Giveaway Winner

On my list for this past weekend, source accessories for my workspace at the office. Yes, I’m returning to work full time and I want to make my workspace more reflective of my love for beautiful spaces. You could say I wear two hats, one as the marketing manager for a business consulting company and the other, as an interior decorator. Both hats blend creativity with value driven business principles and for that, I love them both.

I want to take my generic workspace from drab to fab by creating a more homey feel. I hope to accomplish this by adding a table lamp, artwork and some colorful accessories, all on a shoestring budget. Here are photos I’m using as inspiration…

Great images, Wendy.

I love all those work spaces, they look like they'd inspire productivity.

I spoke on the women's post panel for "From Drab to Fab: How to Make your Home Office Space Fabulous and Fantastico" (or something or another title) and realized that most people's biggest mistakes when it comes to home office design is that they shove a desk against the wall and stare at the wall all day. Studies have proven that one will be more productive if able to look out a window or at least look at a stimulating piece of art (or a collage of inspirational images).

The images you've chosen all illustrate this, but my favourite office space shown here is the one with the red bookcase - I love how the desk is placed in the middle of the room instead of against a wall. It's a great option for people who have the space to spare!

Thanks for sharing - can't wait to see pics of your office!

Congrats to Kerry too!

Love the blue & white fabric - it's a great starting point for your office :-) Love the little silver bird too :-)

I decorated my home office a couple of years ago. I find it's so much more inspiring to work in a room that's filled with colours and things that you love - it makes work a lot more enjoyable when you enjoy your surroundings :-)

There are a couple of pictures of my home office on my blog on the Portfolio page.

I just posted the same picture of the office with the horse artwork on my blog today :-) And I'm having a giveaway for a beautiful horse photograph by Diane Schuller. I bet it would look great in your office :-) Hope you'll stop by an enter :-)
