Layering Rugs

What do you think of the layered rug look? The most common combination seems to be an animal hide over sisal – interesting, since neither are overly soft underfoot. All in all, it’s growing on me…

I love this look...I have a cowhide in our master (currently in a solo act), and love the feel of it underfoot! That said, it's not padded...so if I was to pop it onto another rug it would be the perfect blend of comfy and soft feeling!

I'm not so in love with the animal hides but I'm planning on layering two rectangular rugs downstairs in my own home. I have a moroccan rug I want to feature but it's really too small, and two close to the floor colour, so I'm adding a darker, larger rug underneath. I think as long as both rugs are fairly low pile it works fantastically!

I like to look when it is some form or fur or cowhide. I think what makes it look good is the different shape the top rug is....I'm not sure I'd love it as much if it was just a round rug on a square rug

I like looking at rooms with this look, but would I put it in my own home? Probably not. I am not a fan of sisal unless it is used on a patio, too scratchy for indoors for me.

Layering rug is a brilliant idea especially if the top one has some shape as is shown in the images. But it is a herculean task cleaning both. But with help from cleaners like carpet cleaning malibu it shouldn't be a nightmare.
