Creating A Cohesive Space

You may remember this kitchen makeover Cameron MacNeil from Canadian House & Home did last spring. Well, in her new show Candice Tells All, Candice Olson tackled the family room that extends from this kitchen (lucky homeowners, I know!). Candice really showcased how to create a cohesive space, using design elements from the kitchen as her jumping off point for the family room. Take a look!

Impressive, isn’t it? I think so. You can see more pictures of the kitchen makeover progress here or check out the online TV segment here. For more sources from Candice Olson’s room makeover, you see the entire listing here.

I've seen this show once and this is the episode I saw! What a great result. I love how they used curtains for chair fabric, and I also love the rug. The sliding door is a nice practical solution to include so it's not all completely open! Also - I love your blog - I'm your newest follower! I have popped by time to time but there's just too much good stuff on here not to follow.
OMG the luckiest!!! I adore Candice Olsen! She is the very bestest!
These are all wonderful! What lucky homeowners. That sliding barn door is totally amazes me!

I saw this episode and loved the concept but not the furniture layout. It looks good visually, but I didn't think functionally it worked for the couple. I thought I saw that on their faces during the reveal. The couch now faces a window and not the tv. I think this design ended up being more for eye candy on tv and then when the cameras were off they probably rearranged the furniture to suit their needs. Which luckily for them, they could easily do with the furniture she provided. But I do love Candace, she is my favorite HGTV designer.

I love the greyish colour of the sofa. The whole flat looks so clean and cosy. I love the fact that my cleaners are also that good at cleaning.
