High Gloss Painted Rooms

Sourcing photos for my Dramatically Dark post had me crossing paths with dark rooms painted in high gloss paint, so as a spin off, I give you inspiration for High Gloss Painted Rooms. While the preference seems to be dark colors over light, I did find a few light and cheery rooms to add to this round up of inspiration photos. All I have to say, could you be more bold? With the possibility of every wall imperfection highlighted, I will stay clear of high-gloss paint.

I might consider painting a door or piece of furniture in high gloss just to give it a whirl. How about you, would you consider doing high gloss somewhere in your home?

Given this post is devoted to high gloss, have you checked out the premiere issue of High Gloss on line magazine yet? Great issue!high gloss magazine

Dark glossy walls are so gorgeous, but you really have to have perfectly smooth and blemish-free walls to get that really amazing look.

Love the first space with the glossy black door & walls, and the living room with the blue walls and blue velvet sectional - yummy!

Love that compass rose on the floor in the kitchen...it looks fabulous and I really dig the high gloss ceilings treatment too, but not too crazy about the high glass walls. It might feel like every surface is a mirror - I can't handle seeing that much of myself everyday!

Interesting use of gloss. Like you said, using gloss on walls is a sure fire way to highlight any imperfections. That said it can be very practical in some areas, bathrooms, utility rooms and generally anywhere you have a lot of moisture.
